I am not able to make or receive calls even though i have connect to the preferred network
Make sure that SIM has sufficient credit to make calls.
If you are not able to make calls do the following steps:
- Turn off the phone, remove battery and sim
- Wait 10-30 seconds then re-insert the sim, battery and power on the phone. Select your location profile correctly( shown with * )
- Wait for the phone to locate a network and register (confirm which network is reported on the phone)
or manually select the Preferred Network. (Network Settings on handset)
- From the phone dial *133# send
- The customer should receive a SMS message including his UK MSISDN number
- At this point the phone should be working
How to recharge your SIM using voucher?
To recharge your account using voucher, Dial * with the PIN number followed by #
Eg: Dial *0001234567890123456#
How to recharge your SIM online?
You can recharge your Magellan SIM using your Credit Card or PayPal Account. Enter your mobile number and your PIN, select the amount that you wish to top up, and click the "Buy Credit" button.

How to check your credit balance?
Dial *187# to check your current credit balance in your magellan SIM
What is your credit validity?
- For 20 USD recharge, credit validity is 30 days.
- For 50 USD recharge, credit validity is 60 days.
- For 100 USD recharge, credit validity is 120 days.
Will it matter which kind of phone I have?
Magellan SIM works for GSM telephones that are not locked by a certain operator. If you have a carrier-locked phone - please see the question below in the FAQ.
What if my mobile phone is operator locked?
The easiest way around this is to use a spare, non-locked phone that you may have lying around. Or you may temporarily borrow such a phone from someone during your holiday.
There are a great number of shops where you can have your phone unlocked (Google this...). It will only cost a few pounds and it is entirely legal.
If your fixed contract with your operator has expired, you could also call your operator and have them do this for you - sometimes they do it for free
How do I know if my phone is operator locked?
The safest way is to try it yourself by inserting a SIM card from another operator into your phone. Borrow one from a friend for instance. If your phone then works, it is not operator locked.

Can I receive text messages sent to my UK mobile phone number?
Yes
I have lost my SIM card , do i get a duplicate SIM card with the same number?
No, this is not possible.
